A long day on the spurs comes down to what sits between the shank and your leg. The Leather Climber Pads (3127) is Buckingham's large-profile leather pad: 8 inches wide, with a thick felt lining and a tunnel that holds the shank rigid, so the load spreads across more of your calf and the climber stays where you put it.

It's a traditional leather pad for climbers who'd rather have leather than foam and hook-and-loop. The two-strap design secures it top and bottom, and it suits aluminium, steel and titanium climbers.

Straps aren't included. You'll need two pairs: Buckingham's 26in (2649) fits most legs, with 22in (2239) and 30in (2839) for smaller or larger calves.
