The Squirrel Tether is the ONLY metal tether for the ISC Rope Wrench, designed and manufactured exclusively by ISC. The Squirrel Tether is designed for low-friction ascents and optimal engagement of the Rope Wrench, as required during descent and lateral movements within the canopy.
The new Squirrel Tether is manufactured from Aluminium, which ensures that twist and flex in the Rope Wrench system, is minimal. This means that the Rope Wrench remains in the optimal low friction position during ascent, (allowing the climber to achieve maximum climb efficiency), and ensures that the Wrench engages efficiently, as required during lateral movements and descent.
The Squirrel is fitted with a stopper bollard, which keeps the Rope Wrench correctly positioned, to ensure correct engagement on the rope. The stopper bollard also prevents the Rope Wrench from pinching/squashing the user's hand. This means that the user can safely handle the upper or lower part of the tether, when tending/adjusting the system, on the rope.
The Squirrel can be used with an SRS Chest Harness, for hands-free tending of the system, while ascending. The Squirrel offers a choice of four SRS Chest Harness attachment points, allowing users to position their harness, according to the type of chest harness used- and to their personal preference.
The secondary aperture of the Squirrel Pulley provides an attachment point for the addition of a secondary system, which means that the Squirrel system can be used for rescues.
The Squirrel can be used with the 11-13mm Rope Wrench (RP280) and /or the new 13mm-optimised Rope Wrench (RP283).
Tether can be sold separately or as a kit with 11-13mm or 13mm-optiimised rope wrench.
Recommended Karabiner is the KH214SS mini HMS Super Safe, which can be purchased here.
